These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by 88Keys ("the Technician") including, but not limited to, piano tuning, servicing, repair, regulation, rebuilding, and restoration. By engaging the Technician’s services, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
All estimates and quotations are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time of inspection. Unless expressly stated otherwise, estimates are not fixed-price quotations and may be subject to revision should unforeseen issues arise during the course of work. Any significant variation will be discussed with the client prior to proceeding.
Appointments are confirmed upon mutual agreement of date and time.
Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the call-out fee or a percentage of the quoted service fee.
Missed appointments where access is unavailable at the agreed time will be treated as late cancellations and charged accordingly.
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Invoices for larger repair or restoration work may require staged payments or a deposit prior to commencement of work. Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun or materials have been ordered.
Late payments may incur reasonable administrative or interest charges.
Piano strings are under extreme tension and may fail due to age, corrosion, metal fatigue, or prior stress.
The Technician accepts no liability for string breakage occurring during tuning or servicing, including adjacent strings that may fail subsequently as a result of equalization of tension.
Replacement of broken strings, if requested, will be charged separately unless otherwise agreed.
Cast iron plates are subject to structural stresses and may contain latent defects, fractures, or weaknesses not visible upon inspection.
The Technician shall not be held liable for plate or frame breakage occurring during tuning, pitch correction, repair, or restoration work, including any consequential damage arising from such failure.
While every effort is made to achieve a stable and accurate tuning, the Technician cannot guarantee tuning longevity.
Tuning stability is influenced by environmental conditions including, but not limited to, humidity, temperature fluctuations, heating systems, air conditioning, and general building conditions.
Clients are advised that changes in weather or environment may cause the piano to go out of tune shortly after service.
General servicing and repair work is typically completed within approximately 4 to 6 weeks, subject to parts availability, scope of work, and workshop scheduling.
Restoration projects require a minimum timeframe of 3 months and may extend beyond this depending on the condition of the instrument, availability of materials, and the nature of the work involved.
All timelines are indicative and not guaranteed. Delays arising from factors beyond the Technician’s control do not constitute breach of contract.
The client is responsible for ensuring safe, clear, and reasonable access to the instrument.
Any known issues, prior repairs, or structural concerns should be disclosed before work commences.
The Technician reserves the right to refuse or cease work if conditions are deemed unsafe or unsuitable.
All work is undertaken with professional care and in accordance with accepted industry standards.
The Technician’s liability is limited to the value of the service provided. Under no circumstances shall the Technician be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Instruments left unpaid or uncollected for an extended period may be considered abandoned. The Technician reserves the right to recover costs through sale or disposal of the instrument in accordance with applicable law.
Engagement of the Technician’s services constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in full.
